(Shiloh, Ill.) “Think of giving not as a duty but as a privilege.” ―John D. Rockefeller Jr. The members of the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois know the joy of giving this holiday season. They collected toys, food, and money for two local non-profit organizations. The toys were donated to and graciously accepted by The Griffin Center in East St. Louis, and the Community Interfaith Food Pantry in Belleville, who kindly accepted the food donations.
The REALTOR® Association recently held its Second Annual Holiday Celebration, on December 12th at Gateway Classic Cars. Members could be seen bringing in loads of toys including cars, trucks, dolls, games, balls and more, as well as bags of canned goods and non-perishable food. Many members also made monetary contributions. The Community Interfaith Food Pantry totaled the donation to 440 pounds of food.
“Our members are so generous, not just during the holiday season, but anytime they see a need” states Donna Baker, President of the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois. “Giving brings such a great joy and giving back to your own community is important. Our REALTORS® know that serving those in need, serves the whole community.”
The REALTOR® Association will continue its efforts to help those in the Metro-East. Throughout 2019, the Association helped the following organizations: REALTOR® Relief Fund, the Airmen’s Attic at Scott Air Force Base, and now The Griffin Center and the Community Interfaith Food Pantry.
The REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois (RASI) is the voice for real estate in Southwestern Illinois with over 1,000 members. Our mission is to empower members to succeed into the future.
